Sofa cup holder, arm tray or side table?

Choose by your sofa’s shape and the space you need.

An arm tray starts with the arm

A tray that rests over a sofa arm needs a compatible arm shape and width. Check the tray maker’s limits and whether it rocks or slips on your particular upholstery. A holder made for one shape is not automatically suited to a rounded, narrow or deeply padded arm.

A side table creates a separate surface

A table keeps the drink off the cushions and can make sense when people or pets move around the sofa. Check the height and seated reach, and keep the base of the table clear of walking paths. A larger surface may also be useful if you need room for a plate, book or remote.

Steadi works with the drink’s base

Steadi needs no sofa attachment, but it needs a level spot that supports the full 5.2-inch footprint. Measure the drink’s base separately: 2–3.15 inches is the inclusive range. Choose a table if the cushion sinks or tips when someone sits down; a wider drink base cannot repair an unsuitable cushion.
